The pristine dairy farms dotted along the Umzimkulu River and its tributaries with the cows feeding in the green pastures and with the backdrop of the Ukhahlamba Mountains and the surrounding World Heritage site is just a spectacular and magnificent setting to be out in the crisp fresh air riding on a mountain bike.

With access to the Sani Spoors with 70km of mountain biking trail, the vision is therefore to create a system of trails on the working farms, catering for all skills levels, that will allow riders to enjoy and “share” the area, while co-existing with the on-going farming operations.

The area is also home to the international acclaimed Sani2C Mountain Bike Race.

Three ScenicGolf Courses

The Drakensberg region is home to some excellent golf courses.

9-hole Underberg golf course, the country club also offers a swimming pool, braai area, squash court, cricket & hockey field. Function room. Light meals served all day.

Sani Pass Hotel 9-hole golf course is laid out along the meandering Mkhomzana River with many scenic river crossings on newly constructed swing bridges shadowed by a backdrop of blue mountain peaks presenting a pleasant challenge and other-worldly challenge to any golfer.

18-hole Glen Garrie Golf course is the only 18-hole golf course in the Southern Berg (NGU affiliated). Known to be challenging but fair, the course is ideal for all golfers from seasoned professionals to the first time player.
